Foundation welcomes new board members

The Obici Healthcare Foundation recently welcomed four new board members to its board of directors. They are:
- R. Scott Carr, of Suffolk, a managing director of the Carr Investment Group of Wells Fargo
- Emanuel M. Myrick Jr., of Suffolk, the pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church on Bute Street
- Lynne H. Rabil, of Franklin, the president and chief executive officer of Hubbard Peanut Company
- Thomas Woodward III, of Suffolk, a vice president/chief lending officer/Suffolk Market Leaders at Farmers Bank
The Obici Healthcare Foundation also thanks four outgoing board members for their support, hard work and service to the board of directors, foundation and residents of Western Tidewater and Gates County.
They are:
- Richard F. Barry III, a founding board member who served from 2006 to 2015
- Harold U. Blythe, who served from 2013 to 2015
- Douglas C. Naismith, a founding board member who served from 2006 to 2015
- B.J. Willie, a founding board member who served from 2006 to 2015
The Obici Healthcare Foundation was created in 2006 with assets established through the generosity of Planters Peanuts founder Amedeo Obici and funds from the merger of Louise Obici Memorial Hospital and Sentara Healthcare. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grant funding.
