Jamie T. Freeman, 29, of 2601 Townhouse Lane, Chesapeake, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of Bishop James A. Thornton and Janie Thornton.
She was a graduate of Nansemond River High School and Old Dominion University. She was employed as a payroll expense administrator at CBN. Jamie was a member of Hampton Roads Fellowship.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, William A. Freeman Jr.; daughter, Melanie C. Freeman, of Chesapeake; her parents, Bishop James and Janie Thornton; sisters, LaSonya T. Muhammad (Mustafa) and Vandelyn Thornton, both of Suffolk; sisters-in-law, Sheryl A. Freeman, of Suffolk; Dana Anthony (Claude), of Knightdale, N.C., and Kelly P. Freeman, of Lithonia, Ga.; brother-in-law, Brian A. Freeman, of Suffolk; mother and father-in-law, William A. Freeman Sr. and Carolyn; aunts, Janice Clark, Elizabeth Peele, Shelia Turner, Bertha Smith (Newt), and Delores Smith (Lawrence); uncles, Miles Thornton (Mardee), Terry Thornton (Charlene), Norman James (Terri), Carlton James, and Thomas James; nephews, Christopher V. Parker and Espada Taylor; other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015, at East End Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Miguel Davilla. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will assemble at 9:30 a.m. Friday at 1391 Lawson Circle, Suffolk, for the procession to the church. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
