Stabbing arrest made

Suffolk police have arrested a local man in connection with a Saturday evening stabbing.
Johnnie M. Hinton, 55, of Suffolk, has been charged with burglary, malicious wounding, and shoot, stab, cut or wound. He was being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
According to a city press release, the victim is Andrew Pruitt, 25, of the 200 block of Cedar Street. He remains hospitalized at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was airlifted by Nightingale after the stabbing.
The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to the release.
The incident occurred in the 200 block of Cedar Street about 6:17 p.m., according to the city press release. The first units arrived three minutes later. The victim had multiple stab wounds to the torso.
City spokeswoman Diana Klink said the investigation is continuing, and no further details are available at this time.
