Five people have been charged in last week’s crime spree that included theft and damage at sports facilities and restaurants throughout Suffolk and Windsor, including at Suffolk’s Sleepy Hole Golf Course and the Suffolk Youth Athletic Association.

Police say the same suspects were involved in similar incidents in Isle of Wight County, as well.

The following people have been arrested and are being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail:

• Blane Sebastian Washington Jr., 24, of the 100 block of Brewer Avenue, Suffolk
• Aaron M. Underhill, 25, of the 1200 block of East Washington Street, Suffolk
• Noah C. Rivera, 23, of Suffolk
• Stephanie Marie Drames, 32, of the 8200 block of Gale Avenue, Ivor
• Toby D. Underhill, 29, of Suffolk

With the exception of Aaron Underhill, each person is charged in Suffolk with three counts each of burglary, grand larceny, vandalism, conspiracy to commit grand larceny and conspiracy to commit burglary. Aaron Underhill is charged with two counts each of the same crimes.

In addition, Washington, Drames and both Underhills are charged in the burglary of the Windsor Athletic Association on the night of Oct. 14 or early morning of Oct. 15, according to a news release from the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Isle of Wight release, a search warrant executed at Drames’ residence in the 8200 block of Gale Avenue in Ivor recovered items reported stolen from Windsor Athletic Association.

In Isle of Wight, Washington and Drames are charged with grand larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny and burglary. The Underhills are charged with conspiracy to commit larceny and burglary.

Furthermore, Washington, Drames and Aaron Underhill are charged in reference to a burglary at Checkers Restaurant at 9516 Windsor Boulevard in Windsor sometime after midnight on Oct. 17.

At Suffolk Youth Athletic Association on Kings Fork Road last week, the same night Windsor was hit, most of the doors were kicked in to the building that houses the concession stand downstairs and the boardroom upstairs. Stolen items included a safe with at least $750, as well as additional cash, food and sports gear. Food was slung about inside the concession stand, and supplies were strewn outside.

Moe’s Southwest Grill on North Main Street did a taco bar fundraiser for SYAA at its fields on Saturday after the vandalism and, according to a comment on the Suffolk News-Herald’s Facebook page, will do it again this Saturday.

Different comments on the same post said one or two of the suspects were employees at Moe’s. A Moe’s employee on Wednesday confirmed one of the suspects is a current employee, and another one was recently fired.

The Facebook pages of Aaron Underhill and Rivera say they work at Moe’s.

Rivera is a member of a Facebook group called “Suffolk Soccer” that says it gets together for pickup soccer at SYAA on Thursdays.

Damage at Sleepy Hole Golf Course early on Oct. 14 totaled more than $100,000, according to a city news release. The vandals broke several glass doors, flooded the floor in the snack bar area, broke into the pro shop and damaged numerous items, and took several carts and drove them around the course, causing damage to the carts, landscaping and light poles.

The damage at Windsor Athletic Association included damage to the concession stand and boardroom as well as two new public address systems that were stolen.

Police are continuing to investigate, and anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or text the keyword SPDVATIP and the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
