SNH plans mobile newsroom

With the Suffolk Peanut Fest kicking into high gear, the Suffolk News-Herald once again, weather permitting, will be taking its mobile newsroom to the festival grounds at the Suffolk Executive Airport for the weekend.
Visitors are invited to stop at the News-Herald’s tent while they are at the event Friday and Saturday to meet members of the staff and watch a little of the production process.
Both Saturday’s and Sunday’s editions of the newspaper will be written and designed on site, and newsroom staff will be on hand from noon to closing both Friday and Saturday.
Those attending the festival will have a chance to contribute, as we will be accepting festival photos from the public for possible publication in the newspaper and in Suffolk Living magazine. The photographer who submits the best photo of the weekend will see that photo published in the newspaper’s calendar in November.
We’ll also be launching a new Suffolk Living feature, “Suffolk Selfies,” and folks who shoot a selfie at our tent will be in the running to have their photos published in the inaugural edition of that feature in the November/December issue of the magazine.
To enter either of the photo contests, bring your camera card by the tent anytime between noon and closing on Friday or Saturday or email your shots to news@suffolknewsherald.com.
Whether you’re dropping off photos, have a question for the newsroom, want to see how the paper is produced or just want to say hello, be sure to stop by. We’d love to see you.
