The King’s Fork High School softball team made Monday’s regional quarterfinal against visiting Churchland High School into a 10-0 mercy rule-shortened home win.
“That was probably one of the quickest games I’ve been involved in,” Lady Bulldogs head coach Richard Froemel said of the contest which lasted about 60 minutes.
KF junior pitcher Sydney Wash (14-5) threw a one-hitter, with 12 strikeouts.
Offensively, the Lady Bulldogs were powered by senior Kayla Harbin, who went 2-for-2, with four RBIs, junior Shaina Holland, who went 2-for-3, with two runs batted in and two runs scored and senior Ashley Roten, who went 2-for-3, with two runs scored.
King’s Fork (16-8) hosts Grafton High School today at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs previously faced Grafton right after Spring Break this season, falling 5-3.
“It’s going to be a battle, that’s for sure,” Froemel said.
