A Suffolk woman was arrested Monday after allegedly hitting another woman in the head with a metal candle holder, city spokesman Tim Kelley said Tuesday.
Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 100 block of Grayson Court, where an officer found the 48-year-old victim standing near the road with a wound to the back of her head that was bleeding profusely, according to a police report.
The woman said Julia Artis, 45, had hit her with the candle holder. Officers proceeded to Artis’s residence in the 100 block of Grayson Court and learned she had two local warrants on file. Upon further investigation, she was also charged with assault, felonious assault and wounding in commission of a felony.
