A 9-year-old boy was hospitalized Sunday when the dirt bike he was riding crashed into a house.

The boy was riding the dirt bike in the 400 block of Jackson Street when he lost control of the dirt bike and crashed into the house at 12:26 p.m. Rescue units arrived on the scene at 12:33 p.m., and the child was transported by Nightingale to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
