Lady Saints and Mears go 2-0 this week

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy softball team visited Cape Henry Collegiate School on Thursday and dealt it an 11-8 defeat, capping off a successful week with senior Macy Mears on the mound.
She improved to 2-0, while the Lady Saints offense racked up 14 hits. Sophomore Brooklyne Carr went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in. Eighth-graders Dani Goodman and EJ Bankson each also went 3-for-4.
On Monday, NSA traveled to Richmond and rained 27 hits down on Collegiate School during a 20-8 Lady Saints win.
Going 5-for-6 at the plate were freshman Delaney Taylor, Carr and Mears, who was also the winning pitcher.
Nansemond-Suffolk (6-5, 2-1) hosts Norfolk Academy on Tuesday.
