Christine “Tina” Mathias Turner of Franklin, age 52, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 after a courageous fight against cancer.

She was born to Lyndia Mathias Redd and the late Ralph “Eddie” Mathias Sr. on March 5, 1962, in Suffolk. Tina graduated from Forest Glen High School in Suffolk with the class of 1981. Tina was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend.

Tina is survived by her son, Bryan Turner; her mother, Lyndia Mathias Redd; and two brothers, Ralph “Sonny” Mathias Jr. and Patrick Mathias Sr., and their families. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held at the Holly Lawn Cemetery, behind the BB&T Bank at 1525 N. Main St., Suffolk, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014. Pastor Ray Hampton will be officiating. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tina’s Southampton Memorial Hospital Hospice team.
