On April 3, 2014, our beloved Eloise Clayton entered into eternal slumber. She was born on Sept. 28, 1922, in Tampa, Fla., to the late Willie and Jannie Harris.

She united in holy matrimony to the late William Clayton.

She attended First Baptist Church, Far Rockaway, N.Y., where she was an active member.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Jane Clayton-Dugger (Floyd) and Patricia Diane Clayton; five grandchildren, Yolanda Sutton, Dara J. Dugger, Melissa Dugger, Floyd N. Dugger II and Michael T. Dugger; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ms. Clayton will be on view Thursday from noon to 7 p.m., and the family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. A home going service will take place on Friday at noon at the funeral home chapel, and she will be laid to rest in the T.E. Cooke-Overton Garden of Carver Memorial Cemetery.
