Track and field games planned

The Suffolk Hershey Track and Field Games will be held on May 21 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Planter’s Park on 515 York St.
The Hershey Track and Field Games is the largest youth sports program of its kind in North America, with hundreds of thousands of children competing every year. It has produced many Olympic medalists and competing athletes.
The Games are free and open to boys and girls ages 9 to 14, all of which will have a chance to be among the 480 athletes who qualify to compete at the North American Final in Hershey, Pa.
Youths will need to register prior to participation. Registration runs from April 1 through May 16 at the Parks and Recreation administration building, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is located on 134 South Sixth Street. Registration can be done after 5 p.m. at East Suffolk Recreation Center and at the joint use recreation centers located at Mack Benn Jr. Elementary School, Oakland Elementary School, Northern Shores Elementary School and King’s Fork Middle School.
