Lady Chargers edge NSA

The Isle of Wight Academy softball team claimed a 3-2 victory against visiting Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on Thursday.
Suffolk’s Trish Webb, sophomore pitcher for IWA, got the win on the mound, throwing seven strikeouts. Junior Carson Saunders and freshman MacKenzie Terry singled in the sixth inning, with Terry knocking in the winning run.
For NSA, senior Macy Mears was 2-for-3 at the plate, while sophomore Brooklyne Carr, eighth-grader Madi Wilson and junior Caylin Harris each went 1-for-3. Harris also had two runs batted in.
The Lady Saints (2-2) hosts Greenbrier Christian Academy on Tuesday.
