Thurman Lee Boone, affectionately known as “Bodilly,” entered into eternal rest on Feb. 25, 2014, at Sentara Obici Hospital. Thurman was born on Aug. 9, 1955, to the late Emily Boone in Suffolk.

Thurman leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Jacqueline Boone; two sons, Thurman Lee Boone Jr. and Eric Gray; two daughters, Larice Reesy Wilson and  Chevon Wilson; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Darlene Boone, Renee Donaldson (Marshall) and Esther Riddick; three brothers, David Boone, Connie Riddick and Darnell Boone; three aunts, Margrit Booth (Joseph), Syroa Milteer (Zachariah) and Sandra Boone; two uncles, Ocie Lee Boone and Calvin Boone; mother-in-law, Mary Wilson; two sisters-in-law, Lila Colbert and Gloria Wilson; brother-in-law, Haskell Wilson; and many other family members and friends.

Mr. Boone will be on view at the funeral home on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the family will greet visitors from 5 to 6 p.m. A celebration of life ceremony will take place at New Mt. Joy FFLM Church on Monday at 2 p.m., and he will be laid to rest in the T.E. Cooke-Overton Garden of Carver Memorial Cemetery.
