Willie Arthur Howell, 69, of 1323 Pheasant Circle, Suffolk, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Autumn Care of Suffolk. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Benjamin Howell and Rosa Howell. He was preceded in death by his son, Willie F. Howell.

He retired as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Palm Tree Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Aretha Howell and Sharday Howell; four stepdaughters, Karen Howell, Shayla Howell, Danielle Howell and Shakara Howell; three sons, Marvin Howell, Darren Howell (Beverly) and Donald Howell (Bonnie); one stepson, Timothy Howell; two sisters, Irene Lowther (Henry) and Eva O’Dell (Joe); brother, Thurman Langston; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at Palm Tree Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Anthony Summerville. Interment will be in Howell Family Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
