An event on Wednesday at Old Dominion University will help female entrepreneurs learn about special federal contracting opportunities available to them.
The Hampton Roads ChallengeHER event will educate women entrepreneurs about the WOSB Federal Contract Program and provide them with resources and knowledge to help grow their businesses through federal contracting.
The program is a joint initiative to promote the Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program, to bring more women-owned firms into the federal government’s supply chain and to provide an avenue for government agencies to meet qualified women-owned contractors.
Those attending will learn how to conduct strategic research and leverage WOSB certifications to go after contracting opportunities; receive updates on the WOSB program and where to find information on future opportunities with government agencies; hear best practices from experienced women entrepreneurs who are selling to the government; and find out where to access local resources in the Hampton Roads area.
ChallengeHER is a joint initiative from American Express OPEN, the Small Business Administration and Women Impacting Public Policy.
The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the Big Blue Room at ODU’s Ted Constant Convocation Center.
