Bush and Taylor formed

The stars aligned recently for two local attorneys who left Stallings, Bush and Randall to branch out on their own.
Justin Bush, 36, and Fred Taylor, 30, are somewhat young to be partners in their own law firm, but they said the time was right to create their own business.
“I’ve always been interested in owning my own business,” said Bush of the newly formed Bush and Taylor P.C. “We had an opportunity.”
“It’s all about timing,” Taylor added. “We took advantage of an opportunity to branch out. For the past five years I’ve been an associate in another firm. It seemed like the right time to take the next step.”
The two moved into the former Pender and Coward law office at 160 W. Washington St. Their staff and clients followed, they said.
They will continue to specialize in civil litigation, criminal law, personal injury and family law.
“We’re personally not doing anything different,” Taylor said.
“This doesn’t change who we are as attorneys.”
Bush agreed. He said he gave notice to his previous law firm over the summer and that Taylor only made the decision within the last month to follow.
“We look forward to helping people in Suffolk,” Bush said. “It’s what we’ve always done.”
While their previous employer is a multi-city law firm, Bush and Taylor will be able to concentrate solely on Suffolk, the partners said.
They said colleagues and others in the Suffolk community have been supportive, and they hope the new office will help support the revitalization of the 100 block of West Washington Street, where Monument Construction is working on new loft apartments and a couple of new restaurants are set to move in soon.
“It’s been extremely encouraging,” Bush said. “It’s going to really help this part of downtown.”
