A construction worker was airlifted Tuesday to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after falling about 25 to 30 feet, city spokesman Tim Kelley said.

The 30-year-old man was working at a construction site in the 6800 block of Harbour View Boulevard. He was alert and conscious prior to being transported.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified, Kelley added. The investigation is ongoing.
