A Southeastern Cooperative Educational Programs student was found to be in possession of a knife on a Franklin City Public Schools bus in Suffolk Friday, the city of Suffolk says.

The pocketknife was found on the student in the 1200 block of Holland Road, city spokesman Tim Kelley said in an email. The incident occurred at 2:14 p.m., according to a police report.

“The knife was not brandished or used in a criminal manner,” Kelley said. “No student was threatened or injured.”
