Player of the Week nominees

Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:
- C.J. Patterson, junior for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy basketball: He continued to establish himself as a leader on the Saints squad by leading the team with 21 points in a big 72-64 win against host Portsmouth Christian School (7-2) on Friday.
- Devon Oakley, senior for Nansemond River High School basketball: He capped off a 3-0 week for the Warriors with a career-high 30 points against visiting Lakeland High School on Friday. He had 15 points, five assists and four steals in Thursday’s road game at Hickory High School. He had a team-high 14 points to go with seven boards, five assists and five steals on Tuesday at Indian River High School.
- Khadedra Croker, senior for King’s Fork High School basketball: She put up incredible numbers during a 3-0 week. Tuesday, she produced 14 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks against host Great Bridge High School. Thursday, she racked up 20 points, 20 rebounds and nine blocks against visiting Oscar Smith High School. Friday, she had 15 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks against host Indian River High School.
