Luxury apartments to open

A grand opening will be held Saturday for a high-end housing development in North Suffolk, offering one, two and three-bedroom residences and some enviable shared facilities.
Bainbridge Hampton Roads Crossing will incorporate 216 apartments for lease when construction is complete in February, property manager Adrienne Newson said.
About a third of those apartments have currently been built, rising to half in the next 30 days, according to Newson.
“We have some of every floor layout, but we will be increasing supply,” she said.
The Bainbridge Companies, based in Florida, paid just under $10.4 million for about 10.6 acres in the mixed-use Hampton Roads Crossing.
Hampton Roads Crossing spans 148 acres and has been developed by Terry Peterson Companies to include retail, restaurant and offices, the city says.
“Luxury apartments like Bainbridge Hampton Roads Crossing add more options to our current and new residents,” Mayor Linda T. Johnson stated in a news release.
Apartment options include one bedroom/one bathroom and 743 square feet; two bedrooms/two bathrooms and 1,028 or 1,052 square feet; and three bedrooms/two bathrooms and 1,279 or 1,276 square feet. Furniture packages are available, Newson said, and apartments come with washers and dryers.
“There are a few other nice places, but we don’t have any communities in this area that offer quite what we offer,” Newson claimed.
The complex offers a cyber café, game room with billiards, bistro, lounge with two television screens, 24-hour fitness center, pool and summer kitchen. The pet-friendly development also has an off-leash dog park.
Applications are accepted from anyone, Newson said. She noted the proximity of defense contractors on Harbour View Boulevard, as well as the military’s Joint and Coalition Warfighting facility, to Hampton Roads Crossing’s location on Hampton Roads Parkway.
Saturday’s grand opening from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. will include refreshments, games and prizes, door prizes, move-in specials, referral incentives and resident prizes. Vice-Mayor Charles Brown has been scheduled for the ribbon cutting.
The first residents moved in during the last week of October, Newson said, noting that 18 percent of the 216 apartments are already leased.
“Bainbridge is extremely pleased to be opening our first luxury apartment project in Hampton Roads,” stated Ron Perera, senior development director at Bainbridge.
