Suffolk man killed in Portsmouth

Portsmouth police are investigating the murder of a Suffolk man in their city over the weekend.
Police received several 911 calls about 11:04 p.m. Friday, said police spokeswoman Jan Westerbeck. Callers first reported shots fired in the area of 1600 Atlanta Ave., and then reported a gunshot victim.
Responding officers discovered 33-year-old Larry Donell Washington dead on the sidewalk from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. Medics also responded and pronounced the victim deceased.
Washington lived in the 6100 block of Bradford Drive in Suffolk.
Portsmouth police are following leads, but have yet to make an arrest or establish a motive for the shooting, Westerbeck said.
