An exciting road game against Grassfield High School came to a disappointing conclusion for the King’s Fork High School boys’ basketball team on Friday.

In a double-overtime contest with the Grizzlies, King’s Fork fell 61-58.

“They were the more physical team,” Bulldogs head coach Josh Worrell said.

Nevertheless, the Bulldogs had their opportunities on Friday. With a tied game, they had the ball near the end of regulation, but then turned it over. They had a shot at the end of the first overtime, but it rimmed out and another shot in double overtime, but the ball would not go in.

“It’s unfortunate we didn’t pull it out,” Worrell said.

He praised his team’s defense and noted the lack of turnovers but said both teams struggled from the free throw line, which kept the game close.

Keith Stagg led the Bulldogs with 13 points, and Akil Freeman chipped in with nine. Shawn Faulk scored eight points.
