Mrs. Zina Maureen Thomas, 46, of 809 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va., died April 20, 2011, in Sentara Obici Hospital.
A native of New York City, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Randi Norfleet; a brother, Maxie J. Mabrey Jr.; her grandparents, Norman W. Gary and Bertha Gary; uncle, Norman Joseph Gary; and aunts, Ruth Paige, Kay F. Hassell and Margaret Ricks.
She attended John F. Kennedy High School and Paul D. Camp Community College, and was employed at Quality Cleaners. She was an evangelist of the Gospel.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Theodore Thomas; a daughter, Devon N. Holliman (Barry), of Columbia, S.C.; three sons, Lewis R. Gary, of Isle of Wight, Victor G. Norfleet, of Richmond, and Tio Norfleet, of Suffolk; her mother, Ella G. Mabrey, of Suffolk; five loving grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 25, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, officiated by Evangelist Willie Riddick. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Public viewing will begin on Sunday, April 24, 2011, at noon. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will be at 1053 Pitchkettle Road, Suffolk, and will assemble there on Monday at noon for the procession to the funeral home.
