Nansemond River Duplicate Bridge Club results for the past few meetings of the club are as follows:
In the inaugural game, Gerry Zekert and Nancy Dempsey won in Strata A. Ann Northey and Buddy Northey won in Strata B. Mike and Fran Duman won in Strata C. The game had 11 pairs.
On Oct. 1, first overall in Stratas A and B was Henry Simpson and Nancy Dempsey. Second overall in Strata A was Joann Olson and Dorothy Lorenz. First overall in Strata C was Tom and Wendy Dingle.
On Oct. 8, a five-table game resulted in Ron and Betty Alldaffer coming in first in Strata A and B North/South, with Charles and Carol Lynne Shotten coming in first in Strata C North/South. John Pinner III and Paul Saunders took first in Strata A and B East/West, with Gerry Zekert and Rebecca Habel coming in second in A East/West and George and Sugar Barrow first in C East/West.
On Oct. 15, John Pinner III and Paul Saunders took first in Strata A. Tom and Wendy Dingle and Nancy Dempsey and Henry Simpson tied for second.
On Oct. 22, Paul Saunders and John Pinner III took first in A/B North/South. Charles and Carol Lynne Shotten took second in A/B and first in C North/South. For East/West, Mike Debranski and Dick Hartman were first in A/B, Ron and Betty Alldaffer were second in A/B, and Rebecca Habel and Fran Duman were first in C.
On Oct. 29, Ron and Betty Alldaffer and George and Sugar Barrow came in first, and Nancy Dempsey and Gerry Zekert and Rebecca Habel and Fran Duman came in second.
On Nov. 5, Robin Hicks and Rebecca Habel were first in all three strata for North/South. John Pinner III and Paul Saunders were second in A North/South, and Tom and Wendy Dingle were second in B North/South. Gerry Zekert and George Hicks were first in A East/West, with Charles Miesch and Carroll Frohman coming in second in A and first in B East/West, and George and Sugar Barrow second in B and first in C East/West.
On Nov. 12, there was a one-winner movement. Gerry Zekert and Paul Saunders were first in Strata A, Charles Miesch and Carroll Frohman were first in Strata B, and Rebecca Habel and Robin Hicks were first in Strata C.
On Nov. 19, there was a five-table, one-winner movement known as a Howell movement. Joann Olson and Pearl Harrell were first in all three strata. Ron and Betty Alldaffer were second in A and B. Carroll Frohman and Charles Miesch were third in A and B and second in C. John Pinner III and Paul Saunders were fourth in A.
Players of all skill levels are encouraged to join the group, which meets every Tuesday night at the Suffolk Presbyterian Church, located at the corner of Constance Road and North Broad Street.
A short lesson begins at 6:40 p.m., with play at 7 p.m. Entry fee is $6 per person.
