After about a year in existence, ServiceMaster Restore Suffolk has moved to a new site at 1925 Holland Road, more than tripling its floor space.

Kathy Lamm, co-owner of the commercial and residential restoration business with husband Dan Lamm, said the old building, opposite Suffolk Golf Course, incorporated about 2,000 square feet, while the new premises has 7,000 square feet.

“We have been in business for a little over a year,” she said. “In July, we moved to our new location. We needed more room.”

Councilman Jeffrey Gardy cut the ribbon with Kathy Lamm during an official opening ceremony for the new location Wednesday.

The business has added another three full-time staff members with the move, increasing its workforce to six employees, Lamm said.

Part of a national franchise born in 1947, ServiceMaster Restore Suffolk is in the business of residential and commercial restoration for water fire and smoke damage, mold remediation, odor mitigation, contents cleaning, debris removal, HVAC and HVAC duct cleaning, emergency board-up and tarping.

The franchise services Suffolk and surrounding areas, working with insurance agents, adjustors and property managers.

Lamm said the business expects to keep expanding, and is more visible at the new location.

“We have certainly heard from people that have said, ‘Hey, we see you now!’” she said. “Some people think we are new because we are here.”

Suffolk Mayor Linda T. Johnson commented in a news release, “It is terrific news when one of our existing businesses is successful and able to expand. We are so pleased ServiceMaster Restore has continued to grow within our community.”
