On July 7, police received a report that items had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the neighborhood of Waters Edge at the Riverfront. Cash, personal items and at least one credit card were taken from the vehicle, according to city spokeswoman Diana Klink.

The stolen credit card was used at the MacArthur Center mall in Norfolk, where detectives tracked down a photo of the suspect from a surveillance camera in an elevator at the mall.
