A business new to North Suffolk is taking a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, offering a variety of services under one roof in the Harbour View area, as well as in-home.

EternaWell Comprehensive Wellness Center moved to Suite 112 at 6546 Hampton Roads Parkway from its former location in Chesapeake in April.

Last Friday, the business threw open its doors to the public, before Mayor Linda T. Johnson cut the ribbon for an official opening.

“I really wanted everything under one roof and for the approach not to be cookie-cutter,” business owner Brandy Hollaway said.

Walking inside EternaWell, it’s instantly clear this isn’t your average fitness center. There are some treadmills, exercise balls and other more run-of-the-mill equipment, but there’s also space for things like Pilates, Reiki, yoga and chiropractics, as well as rooms for life planning, diet counseling and many other services.

Illustrating the 14 staff members’ high level of training, the yoga therapist has had 800 hours of training, Hollaway said, as opposed to the 200 hours required of a yoga instructor.

EternaWell’s in-home service takes these professionals on the road to clients, and the business also offers corporate services.

“You can’t just go to a gym and achieve balance,” Hollaway said. “Stress is a huge factor for most people, so we are really just trying to help them find things that work for them.”

EternaWell has partnered with Suffolk Partnership for a Healthy Community. Robbie Laughton, the partnership’s executive director, said they would share resources to promote healthy lifestyles.

“We are joining with EternaWell to do walking groups two days a week,” Laughton said. “EternaWell has been very gracious in donating door prizes to several of our Suffolk on the Move events.”

Before cutting a ribbon to officially open EternaWell in North Suffolk, Mayor Linda T. Johnson enjoyed an energy field analysis.

“She was spot on, it was amazing,” Johnson said of the experience.

EternaWell is a unique business in Suffolk, according to the mayor. “Personally, I go to four different places to do what they are doing in one spot,” she said. “You can come here and do all of those things at one time.”

EternaWell is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Instead of joining and paying monthly fees, customers either pay for different packages catered to their needs or purchase services individually.
