The suspect is also believed to be involved in a burglary and assault case, which happened on Franklin’s Washington Street Wednesday morning, according to Lt. Timothy Whitt, spokesman for the Franklin Police Department.

At approximately 5:30 a.m., an individual forced entry through a back door and sexually assaulted the 48-year-old resident. The victim was also struck in the face, causing injury. She was later treated at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

It is unknown at this time if anything was taken. As of Friday, Porter had not been formally charged in the Washington Street case.
