Joseph D. Griffin passed away in his home surrounded by his family and friends on July 26, 2013. He was the son of the late Charlotte and James Causey Griffin Sr.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Earlene; daughters, Janet Luter and husband Mark, Jennifer Groves and husband Gene; son, Troy Griffin and wife Martha, of Suffolk; grandchildren, Brandon Luter, of Bedford, Hayden Griffin, Matthew Tyler Luter, Nicholas Griffin, Anni Groves, Preston Groves and Malli Groves, all of Suffolk.

Joe was a good, simple man — a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a lifelong farmer.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434, with the Rev. Robert W. Bunn officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, July 29, 2013, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home.
