Police investigate shooting

Suffolk police are investigating a Saturday night shooting that sent a 20-year-old man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The victim, Trovias Mayfield, was shot in the 300 block of Wellons Street about 10:40 p.m., city spokeswoman Diana Klink said in a press release. He was ground-transported to Sentara Obici Hospital, where the Nightingale air ambulance picked him up and took him to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was rushed into surgery and now is listed in stable condition.
No suspect information is available at this time.
