A Suffolk woman will appear in court after police say she allowed a 12-year-old boy for whom she had guardianship to be absent from school for more than 62 days.
Stacey Darnielle Warmack, 32, was charged with failing to send the child to school, inducing child to be absent from school and contributing to delinquency of a minor.
City spokeswoman Diana Klink said the child had been absent from Sept. 17 to May 2. School personnel made several attempts to set up a meeting with the truancy review board, but she failed to attend all of them, including one at Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, Klink said.
