Cover 3 Foundation held its second annual Smithfield Camp for Food at Nike Park in Smithfield recently.
Approximately 50 boys and girls were in attendance to learn skills from area coaches and football players and former NFL defensive end Greg Scott, founder and CEO of the Cover 3 Foundation.
The kids learned various football skills and drills, along with lessons on respect, hard work and dedication. More than 200 canned goods were collected in support of C3’s Kids Meals, a division of Cover 3 Foundation responsible for feeding area children throughout the year.
Scott directs camps throughout the year at facilities throughout Hampton Roads. The camp at Nike Park was free to campers and coaches and was produced in partnership with Smithfield Pop Warner football.
“I am excited about the turnout at Nike Park,” Scott said. “Thank you to the parents, coaches and players who participated. We can’t wait for next year.”
The nonprofit Cover 3 Foundation specializes in inspiring and motivating youth to achieve their goals and conquer adversity through positive, personal and passionate coaching, mentoring and community service.
The Cover 3 Foundation works to provide positive experiences for all youth by reaching, teaching, feeding, mentoring and motivating them through positive experiences and long-lasting relationships.
Founded in 2009, the Cover 3 Foundation (formerly Cover 3 Football) was birthed out of Greg Scott’s passion to fill numerous personal voids for today’s youth and a need to provide a dynamic platform that would safely empower young people to make the right choices throughout their life path.
