Vann Larry Cousins

Vann Larry Cousins, 62, of 1108 Darren Drive, Portsmouth, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of the late Vann Allen Cousins and Carrie Jane Cousins.

He was in the last graduating class of Booker T. Washington High School in 1969. He attended Norfolk State University. He was employed with Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth. He was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church, where he was a trustee.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Celestine Cousins; a son, Vann Marquis Cousins, of Suffolk; two sisters, Judy Blaize (Eric), of Raleigh, N.C., and Elaine Jones (George), of North Babylon, N.Y.; two brothers, Jerry Cousins (Millicent), of Portsmouth, and Dennis Cousins (Bernadine) of Gary, Ind.; an aunt, Ruby Watkins, of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Metropolitan Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Robert L. Hobbs. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
