Suffolk Parks and Recreation is set to provide a way for your child to engage and socialize for the summer, along with a place to provide that experience, during its Planet Recreation summer program, which will provide activities, games and field trips for participants from June 24 to Aug. 16.
Registration begins March 23, from 8 a.m. to noon at Creekside, Northern Shores, Oakland and Mack Benn Jr. Recreation Centers. Registration for Booker T. Washington Recreation Center will take place at East Suffolk Recreation Center.
Registration for Whaleyville Community Center will begin March 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation administrative office.
Parents or caregivers will need to bring proof of age for the child, along with two emergency contacts and a check or money order (no cash). For children age 5, parents or caregivers must provide proof of the child attending kindergarten during the 2012-2013 school year.
The cost for Planet Recreation $85 for each two-week session or $340 for the entire program, and it includes the cost of all field trips. There is also a one-time registration fee of $35 per child.
