Susie Mae Evans, 86, of 164 White St., Danville, Va., died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at her residence. Born Feb. 26, 1926, in Rock Hill, S.C., to the late Isaac Shirley and the late Annie Mae Clifton Shirley. She was married to the late John Lee Evans.

Survivors include three daughters, Marjorie E. Brown, of Suffolk, Va., Gwendolyn C. Burnett, of Nyack, N.Y., and Dorothy A. Stukes, of Spring Valley, N.Y.; two sons, William Evans, of Columbia, S.C., and Roger Evans of New City, N.Y.; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by 13 siblings.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Ararat Christian Church, 1860 Airport Road, Suffolk. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Portsmouth, Va.
