The amount of snow predicted for Saturday night continues to grow, with forecasters now calling for 1 to 3 inches in Suffolk.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory to remain in effect from 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon to 4 a.m. Sunday. The highest snow accumulations will occur primarily on grassy and elevated surfaces, but roads, bridges and overpasses may become covered in snow during the late afternoon and evening.
Visibility will be less than one mile during the heaviest snowfall, and colder temperatures will result in slick roads after the snow ends.
Winds accompanying the snow system will be about 15 to 20 miles per hour, according to the weather advisory.
