Amanda M. LeGrand, 17, of Suffolk, Va., died Feb. 6, 2013, at Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, Va.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross, Iowa, where a vigil service will be held at 2 p.m.

LeGrand

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Raymond Burkle.

Amanda was born April 29, 1995, in Virginia Beach, Va., the daughter of Frank and Kathy (Clemen) LeGrand. She was a senior at King’s Fork High School in Suffolk, Va., and would have graduated with honors this spring. She received early acceptance to Radford University in Virginia to pursue her Registered Nursing degree. She was employed as a part time cashier at Food Lion grocery store.

Survivors include her parents: Frank and Kathy LeGrand, of Suffolk, Va.; brothers, Christopher (Ashley), of Virginia Beach, Va., Nathan (Samantha), of Chesapeake, Va., and Daniel LeGrand at home; nieces, Elizabeth and Riley LeGrand; her boyfriend, Daniel Huneycutt; grandmother, Mary Clemen (John Bugis), of Hendersonville, Tenn.; great-grandmother, Leona Cook, of Rickardsville, Iowa; uncle and aunts: Dan (Bev) Clemen, Lori Benn, DeEtta LeGrand, Tammy (Tony) Slyder, Brian (Brandi) LeGrand and Jason (Kaiye) LeGrand; cousins: Tyler, Allison and Ryan Clemen, Cody Burger, Cole Benn, Kami Meyers, Sarah Meyer, Korey LeGrand, Chelsee Villa and Debra LeGrand, Nichole Layton, Bradley Paupin and Tyler Slyder, Edna Wilson, Michael, Derrick, Cody and Jazmine LeGrand, Destiny, Heather and Frank LeGrand.

Amanda was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Ambrose Clemen; paternal grandparents: Jim and Janet LeGrand; great-grandparents: John Cook, Leonard and Frances Clemen, Glenda and Melba Nickless, Franklin LeGrand and Thelma Parker; an uncle, Kenny LeGrand; and a cousin, Brittany Clemen.
