A body found in a ditch off Suburban Drive Thursday has been identified.

Police say the body was that of Thomas Dale Cook, 47. Cook was a resident at the NubJones Assisted Living Facility, which is just around the corner from where the body was found.

He was last seen at NubJones on Wednesday evening, city spokeswoman Debbie George said.

The body was found near the intersection of Suburban Drive and Riddick Drive on Thursday at about 3:46 p.m. City spokeswoman Debbie George said children playing in the area found the body.

An autopsy was performed today, but the cause of death still is pending.

Police said Thursday there was no obvious trauma to the body.
