Ella Downy Jenkins, 86, of Hassell, N.C., passed away March 11, 2011. She was born in North Carolina, the daughter of the late Mary Sue Downy and Lewis Downy. She was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Raymond Jenkins Sr.

Ella is survived by her daughters, Peggy Keel, of Hassell, N.C., and Shelby Ward, of Courtland, Va.; sons, Raymond Jenkins Jr., of Wilson, N.C., Earnest Jenkins, of Robersonville, N.C., Louis Jenkins, of Tazewell, Va., Collie Ray Jenkins, of Windsor, N.C., Tink Jenkins, of Williamston, N.C.; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Woodland United Methodist Church with Pastor Chuck Worth officiating. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
