Suffolk police are seeking a 16-year-old on felony warrants stemming from a stabbing at a party at a city-owned facility Saturday night.

Yamaine Elliott, 16, of the 300 block of Central Avenue, is wanted for two counts of malicious wounding and two counts of shoot, stab or wound, city spokeswoman Debbie George said. He eluded arrest Sunday when he fled through an upstairs window as detectives entered the house downstairs.

The incident occurred at the Planters Club at 4600 Planters Club Drive, off Sleepy Hole Road.

George said the facility was rented by a father, ostensibly for a private “Sweet 16” party for his daughter. However, unbeknownst to the city, tickets were sold for the event at $5 in advance or $10 at the door.

About 10:30 p.m. Saturday, several fights broke out in the building, George said. Hired security escorted problem-causing individuals outside, where the stabbing took place, George said.

The victims were 15-year-old and 18-year-old males and a 17-year-old female. The 15-year-old was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with a collapsed lung, and now is in satisfactory condition. The 18-year-old victim also was taken to the Norfolk hospital by ambulance.

Police obtained a court order to be able to release the juvenile suspect’s information and photograph to the media, George said.
