Neuter Scooter gets new Suffolk location

The Suffolk Humane Society has secured a new location for the Neuter Scooter. In addition to the Magnolia Ruritan Club building at 1047 Nansemond Parkway and the Suffolk Humane office at 3118 Kings Highway in Driver, the Neuter Scooter also will be at Epps Farm Supply, 2170 Joshua Lane, on Nov. 18 for a barn cat special. Suffolk Humane will offer a $10 discount for all “barn” cats, and all cats will qualify as barn cats that day.
“A fertile cat has an average of three litters a year, resulting in 12 or more kittens,” said Lisa Branton, director of prevention for Suffolk Humane. “Over time, this can result in hundreds of unwanted cats. Spaying and neutering pets is the single most important way to prevent the euthanasia of adoptable animals, because there just aren’t enough homes for them all.”
The Neuter Scooter is a mobile surgical bus offering low-cost spay/neuter, vaccines and other services. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 538-3030, option 1.
