John Weldon Robinson died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Sentara Obici Hospital.

He was born April 6, 1948 to John Weldon Robinson, Sr. and the late Olivia Carey Robinson.

He attended Holy Trinity Pentecostal Churches in Suffolk and Washington, D.C. as a child and young adult. He attended Suffolk Public Schools and graduated from Bell Vocational High School in Washington, D.C. He retired after 34 years as a bus driver at Metro Transit in Washington, D.C.

He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Jonea Banks of Laurel, Md.; sons, Jermaine and Tremaine Bryant and Darren Robinson of Washington, D.C.; his father, John Weldon Robinson, Sr. (Mable); one brother, Clyde Eugene Robinson Sr. of Mitchellsville, Md.; stepbrother, Jerry Robinson of Cheverly, Md.; seven grandchildren; an uncle, Harvey Robinson (Rose) of Henderson, N.C.; an aunt, Helena Robinson; nephews, Clyde Robinson Jr. and Javon Robinson; devoted cousins, Dorothy Foster and Marie Martin; a devoted friend, Ella Chester of Hyattsville, Md.; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon, Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at St. Paul RZUA Church, 619 Spruce St., Suffolk, officiated by Dr. Edward Foreman. Entombment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
