During the month of December, women from 13 congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina donated more than 750 quilts and blankets to local charities. The yearlong project was a labor of love by the women, which included some from the Bennett’s Creek congregation in Suffolk.

Donations were made to Newborns in Need, Inc. Tidewater Virginia chapter, which serves sick and needy babies and their families within the area, and Project Linus Northeastern North Carolina chapter, Dare County, N.C., chapter, and Norfolk, Va., Area chapter, which provide blankets and afghans to sick, traumatized, and needy children of all ages within the local chapter area.
