It has been almost two years since Jada, a pit bull-boxer mix, began the road to recovery. Jada was seized from her owner following a welfare check by Suffolk Animal Control.

Now, Jada is healthy, happy, and ready for adoption.

When she was seized due to neglect and mistreatment, Jada had a low heart rate and difficulty standing or walking. It was thought she would have to be euthanized.

Jada was brought to Bennetts Creek Veterinary Hospital and transferred to the Eve’s Orphans program, where she received immediate medical treatment. Now, Jada is a healthy 65- to 70-pound dog that is great with people and looking for a new home.

The four year old is black with a white blaze on her chest. Jada is very loving and loves to have her tummy rubbed. She would need to go to a single-dog home with no small children due to her active nature.

Eve’s Orphans is a non-registered charity that was created by the doctors and staff at Bennetts Creek Veterinary Care to provide funding for the care of orphaned and abandoned animals that would otherwise be euthanized.

It was named for their very first adoptee, a stray pit bull with many health problems. They were able to treat her and find her a great new home, but at considerable expense.
