Chargers roll to 8-0 Metro mark

Isle of Wight’s boys basketball squad remained perfect in Metro Conference play with a 73-61 win at Summit Friday evening in Newport News.

Senior guard Brandon Privette and sophomore center Nathan Sivertson scored 25 points each for the Chargers (15-2, 8-0).

Summit played the Chargers to an 18-18 tie through one period before IWA won the second period 23-11.

Privette led IWA with nine points in the second period. Sivertson scored 10 of his points in the third period, helping the Chargers move out to a 62-44 lead at the end of three quarters. Kendall Boyd added seven points on the night for the Chargers.

Isle of Wight travels to face Williamsburg Christian Tuesday evening in an important Metro game. Williamsburg Christian (10-6, 6-2) lost 73-70 to Atlantic Shores (14-5, 8-0) Friday night.
