Merlin L. Wyatt, 36, of the 1100 block of East Washington Street, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011.

Merlin was born June 29, 1974, to Cornelia Wyatt and the late Roland L. Wyatt.

Merlin was a member the Oak Grove Baptist Church.

He graduated from Nansemond River High School class of 1992. He was also a graduate of Old Dominion University, with a bachelor’s degree in human service counseling.

Merlin leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Cornelia Wyatt, of the home; a brother, Roland V. Wyatt, of Suffolk; a devoted niece, Natasha Blunt, of Suffolk; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at noon at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Anthony Copeland officiating. The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. for viewing.
