Joan “JoEllen” Williams Gienger, 67, of Smithfield, died Jan. 4, 2011.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Benn’s United Methodist Church with the Rev. O. H. Burton officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke’s Memorial Park. Friends may join the family at the residence Thursday night from 5 to 7 p.m. for a time of visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Isle of Wight Chapter, c/o Lois R. Little P.O. Box 659, Smithfield, VA 23431.
