Edward Armstrong, 74, of Suffolk, passed away Nov. 15, 2012, as a result of a long illness. His family were by his side when he went to be with the Lord.

He was born to Alice B. Thompson, of Hyattsville, Md., on Jan. 25, 1938. Edward is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Ann; his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Dennis Sens, Vickie and Frank Mangin; and son, Eddie. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Edward served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959, and afterward completed a career with the Prince George’s County, Md., Police Department, rising to the rank of captain.

Edward Armstrong was laid to rest on Nov. 21, 2012, with military honors at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
