Robberies may be connected

Suffolk Police are seeking two suspects in a Sunday robbery at a Carolina Road convenience store and investigating the possibility it may be related to other recent crimes.
According to Suffolk spokeswoman Debbie George, the robbery began around 9:40 p.m. at the Holiday Food Store in the 600 block of Carolina Road. One male suspect entered the store and demanded money. He was followed by a second male suspect who carried a handgun. The two got an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and fled the store on foot.
The clerk was not injured during the robbery, George said.
Police are looking into the possibility that the same suspects have committed other robberies — specifically, a Dec. 3 robbery at Sunoco in the 2700 block of Godwin Boulevard, and a Dec. 11 robbery at Tom & Jerry’s Convenience Store in the 5900 block of Godwin Boulevard.
“At this point, we don’t know for sure that they’re connected, but there are similarities,” George said.
Each of the robberies happened during the 9 p.m. hour and was committed by two male suspects wearing dark colors.
The first Holiday Food Store suspect was described as a black male with a light complexion, 6-feet-1-inch to 6-feet-3-inches tall, 120 to 130 pounds and 20-25 years old. He was wearing all black, George said, including his boots, pants, shirt and bandanna.
The second suspect was described as “shorter and heavier” than the first suspect.
